Affordabile medcineQ: My dog taylor has allergys, the problen is the vet is charging me 42.00 for a 30 day supply of tavist. is there a less expensive way of getting it. i cant find it in your medcines, A: We do not currently stock it among our antihistamines, but until then you can purchase it at your local pharmacy. it is available as tavist and the generic product clemastine should be right next to it on the shelf. be careful not to buy the tavist-d, or the generic which contains pseudoephedrine.

Tapeworm treatmentQ: Cat had fleas, treated. now has tapeworm, tried to treat. purchased tapeworm treatment pills at local pet supply. no instructions came w/the 3 pills. staff in store, no knowledge. how to tx? 1 pill x 3 days, all 3 at once, 1 pill weekly?? no phone number on bottle either. how should it be done? A: I don't know what medication you purchased. if you give me the name of the product, i can try to look it up and answer your question.
Bark controlQ: I have a 5 year toy poodle who thinks it is her job to alert me to every sound outdoors. we used to live in a rural area, where i appreciated her letting me know if someone came to the house. currently we are living in a very close neighborhood and her barking at every outdoor sound (cars driving by, people walking by, other dogs barking, the doorbell) is not quite so appreciated. it means that she is barking much more than ever before. any chance i can break her of this. i've heard about collars that shock when the dog barks but i don't like that idea too much. i've just heard about a citrus or citronella collar that, i guess, gives a squirt when they bark. does this work and where do i find one? A: Might be worth a try. likely can get at natural pet supply store or health food store that carries pet products
Kcs & cyclosporinQ: I receive cyclosporin drops in corn oil from my vet. when i go to purchase this online, many places(1800petmeds) only have it in a salve-type formula which seems to make my cocker's eyes worse. i was wondering if petmeds offer this in a large bottle(more than my usual 5cc) with the cyclosporin in corn oil? A: We currently do not supply the cyclosporin in oil.

Preventic plus vs. frontline plusQ: Our vet recently recommended we use the preventic collar instead of frontline in the future. easier to use and lasts for 3 months. also cheaper. what do you think? A: It is my understanding that there are supply issues with preventic and preventic plus collars. i recommend continuing with frontline plus.

Head tremors and clawing earsQ: My black tabby cat was treated last spring for an ear problem which the vet prescribed tresaderm cause she was shaking her head and clawing her ears and now it has returned. the treatment was very long in duration but she finally responded. i would like to purchase more tresaderm. could you answer me as soon as possible. she gets so upset when a vet has to see her. i have to use a mobile vet as i am disabled and can't transport her to an office. A: We do have tresaderm and can supply it with the approval of a veterinarian. we can call for the approval with your permission.
Black head ingrown nippleQ: 3 year old male pit bull. he has a nipple growth in the middle of his stomach directly between his nipples. it appeared to be a black head. it finally popped as he scratched it - i removed the black head tip and treated it with antiseptic to stop the bleeding. however the nipple growth is still there? what should i do about the ingrown nipple? had i not seen it bleed, i'm concerned he could have bled to death. appreciate your feedback. A: I doubt he would have bled to death as not big blood supply to these. i would have vet check it out as sometimes these are prone to infection and sometimes they can be removed
