Specific medication requestedQ: My vet has prescribed megestral acetate 20mg for my cat's skin condition. the vet said it is simply a reoccurring condition that my cat will probably have forever. within a couple of times giving my cat a half of pill (every other day), he stops scratching the fur off and stops drawing blood all over his body. in other words, he returns to the normally happy and moody cat that he is, however, i cannot find it on any of the on-line vet 'stores.' can you help supply me with this medication??? A: To ensure that the pet gets the full, required dose, it is recommended that you do not split the tablet in half. if your pet is on heartworm medication year round you may not need a heartworm test every year. it is up to your veterinarian but many veterinarians test every 2 years for pets on year round prevention.

OrbaxQ: My vet prescribe a week's supply of orbax for my cat. i just found out on your website that orbax should not be given with food. when adminstering antibiotics for my cats, i always dissolve the pill in a teaspoon of water and mix with about a tablespoon of wet food. this always works on all of my cats and is less tramatic. i do not like shoving pills down my cats mouth for a week or so. why can i not mix orbax with a little bit of food? or is it ok as long as it's very little? A: The way you are administering the dose seems fine, just give it to the cat before you feed it.
