Yellow labQ: I own a 5yr old yellow lab, who has black stuff in both ears and black stuff outside his ears, i've been treating him for earmites and it has'nt cleared up. he shakes his head and whines when i clean them. please help! he is an outside dog. this problem just started in all the time i've had him. is there something i can get him in he pet supply store for this? A: You could try broad acting antbacterial/antifungal anti inflammatory drops like tresaderm twice daily to ears. however best to have vet exam so he/she could get cytology of ear discharge to see if is bacterial or yeast overgrowth in ears and culture ears if necessary. also often need to address underyling allergies or thyroid issues in this breed which vet can do or problems will relapse
Diabetic dogQ: Does petmeds supply insulin for them and the needles. mine uses a 29g 0.5 cc, and or a 1/2 in needle. she uses 2 shots a day of humulin n 10ml, 100 units per ml. thanks A: Sorry, we do not stock insulin or the special syringes needed to administer it.
Kcs & cyclosporinQ: I receive cyclosporin drops in corn oil from my vet. when i go to purchase this online, many places(1800petmeds) only have it in a salve-type formula which seems to make my cocker's eyes worse. i was wondering if petmeds offer this in a large bottle(more than my usual 5cc) with the cyclosporin in corn oil? A: We currently do not supply the cyclosporin in oil.

PhenobarbQ: My dog has been on liquid phenobarb for three years now. is there another medication that petmeds sells that is similar and how much is it? i pay for 1 months supply of pheno at the vet $20. my dog takes 2cc of pheno every 12 hours. A: We do not currently sell phenobarbital. you can check with your local pharmacist as to how much he would charge as it is commonly available.
Heartgard plusQ: Hi, i just took my dogs to the vet for their annual checkup and shots. i usually get the heartgard plus for 12 months through the vet. eventhough i give the medicine religiously every month on the same day, my vet is requireing the heartworm blood test at $50.00 per dog. if i buy the heartgard plus from your pharmacy, will you also require, when you contact my vet, that the bloodtest be done before you prescribe the meds? also can i order two six month supplies for each of my dogs? thanks so much, jennie A: Heartworm products require a prescription from your vet. if the veterinarian you are using requires annual testing then you will have no choice. in answer to your second question, you can order a 12 pack for each of them. if you wish to save money, we can supply the iverhart plus that is the generic equivalent for the heartgard plus.
