My babyQ: I have a 9 year old shar-pei and she has really started showing signs of pain when getting up and walking. i have been giving her the pedigree jonit care and that has helped some but not like i was hoping. i am not due to see the vet again until september. the last time i was in to see him last year, he gave me a week supply of some type of medication for her aches and pains. i could not tell if there was a difference or not in the week that i was giving it to her. i can not remember the name of the medication that he gave me but i really think that i need something better then the pedigree joint care that i have been giving her. i can not stand to watch her hurt and will do anything to help her. please tell me what i should give her. thank you very much for your help. michelle rose A: I would try deramaxx from 1800petmeds in conjunction with a glucosamine product like glycoflex or cosequin

Cat weight for frontline +Q: I just purchased a 6 month supply of frontline + from 1800petmeds for my 2 cats. the older cat of 7 years is 17 lbs and my 1yr old cat is only 8 lbs. although i haven't received the meds yet, considering the weight difference, would the same amount (one vile) be used on each cat? i don't want to harm them by using too much... thank you A: Use the same product on both cats.

Viokase powder & tabletsQ: I have a female akita that will need to take this for the rest of her life and was wondering if the powder & pills are the same or if one is better than the other. the vet said that the pills may not work as well as the powder. do you know? there is quite a price difference between the two items. A: Chemically the powder and the pills are the same. however, the concentration is different. you would need more tablets for an equivalent dose of the powder. also, i understand there are manufacturing and/or supply issues with viokase. you may have to use a product called pancrezyme instead. this is generically equivalent to viokase-v.
